THE S. K. SESHADRI MEMORIAL

MASCOT NATIONAL AWARD

(Instituted 1980-)

Dr. S. K. Seshadri was one of the earlier Presidents of the Electrochemical Society of India. During his Presidency he brought in many new innovations in the Society. He firmly believed that Industries must come forward and support Professional Societies in their pursuit of excellence and growth.  He came forward to Institute man award to recognise meritorious work in the field of Industrial Corrosion. He therefore created a corpus of fund, the interest out of which could be used to Institute an Annual Award in the name of “MASCOT National Award”. At the time of instituting the Award, it carried a purse of Rs. 5000 and a Citation. Over the years this has been increased to Rs. 25,000 and a Citation. The following is the list of awardees who have won this award.

Nominations are received by the Society at any time during the year. Nominations on hand on the 30 June every year are submitted to a subcommittee to select the recipient for the financial year ended 31st March of the year.

Nominations may be made by previous Award winners, Heads of Institutions, Scientists and technologists of repute, and Professors under whom the nominee is working.
